What is the difference between a bundle and a quantity break?

Can Shopify do bundles without an app?
Partly. Shopify's automatic discounts can give an amount off at a minimum quantity, and there is a Buy X get Y discount type. They don't show the tiers on the product page, so shoppers only see the deal in the cart or at checkout. Shopify Bundles, a free app by Shopify, adds fixed bundles.
